KlikajÄ…cy dysk Hitachi

W sumie nie wiem na ile to sprawa na grupê sprzêtow±, ale w zasadzie
przede wszystkim interesuje mnie zachowanie sprzêtu (jaka jego funkcja
mo¿e byæ odpowiedzialna, je¶li to funkcja sprzêtu).

Mam w komputerze dwa dyski Hitachi. Mam te¿ dwa systemy operacyjne.

Na pierwszym dysku (Deskstar 7K250) jest Windows XP (dwie partycje z
NTFS-em), na drugim (Ultrastar A7K1000) Linux (kilka partycji z EXT3).

Gdy mam uruchomiony Windows, który¶ dysk "klika" nieregularnie (ale
chwilami czêsto - czasem przerwy maj± i po kilkadziesi±t sekund,
czasem dysk klika i co ok. sekundê). Trochê przypomina to d¼wiêk
parkowania, lub g³owicy "obijaj±cej siê" o ograniczniki.

Pierwszy Deskstar przyszed³ do mnie uszkodzony i zosta³ wymieniony na
obecnego na gwarancji (a ten wypracowa³ juz u mnie kilka lat). Drive
Fitness Test Hitachi stwierdzi³ o tym uszkodzonym: "Servo failure" --
by³y to (jak pamiêtam) trochê podobne d¼wiêki. Wtedy jednak rós³
licznik "Seek_Error_Rate".

Mam wra¿enie, ¿e nie klika gdy tylko dysk "windowsowy" jest czym¶
obci±¿ony (choæby chkdsk), a klikanie wystêpuje wy³±cznie gdy dysk siê
"nudzi".

D¼wiêki te nie wystêpuj± jednak pod linuksem (albo je¶li wystêpuj± to
jest to mo¿e jedno klikniêcie na dzieñ, mo¿e mniej).

Na ile widzê, pod linuksem nie mam jakiejkolwiek konfiguracji hdparma
(nie powinien nic w dyskach ustawiaæ przy bootowaniu), pod Windows
tak¿e nie kojarzê abym mia³ jakiekolwiek narzêdzia, które mog± mieszaæ
co¶ np. przy zarz±dzaniu energi± dysku.

Sprawdzone pod linuksem hdparmem ustawienia APM i AAM obu dysków:

$ hdparm -B /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
 APM_level = off
$ hdparm -B /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb:
 APM_level = off
$ hdparm -M /dev/sda
/dev/sda:
 acoustic = 254 (128=quiet ... 254=fast)
$ -M /dev/sdb
/dev/sdb:
 acoustic = 254 (128=quiet ... 254=fast)

Sprawdza³em liczniki SMART (g³ównie Load_Cycle_Count) obu dysków po
sesji "intensywnego klikania" - jak pamiêtam nie wzrastaj±.
Znowu je¶li pamiêtam - przyrost tych liczników w Deskstarze mia³em na
pocz±tku u¿ytkowania (pod linuksem) -- wtedy chyba tak¿e po³±czony z
podobnym klikaniem.

Co to mo¿e byæ za "klikanie"?

Byæ mo¿e pojawi³o siê m.w. w tym samym czasie co realokowany sektor na
Deskstarze (choæ nie do koñca wiem kiedy pojawi³ siê ten realokowany
sektor - w ka¿dym razie ju¿ do¶æ dawno)
