</bold>The Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering is
seeking

a tenure-track, faculty member at the level of Assistant Professor to

begin on or about September 1, 2000. Requirements are a Ph.D.

or equivalent in a materials-related field, a strong interest in both

undergraduate and graduate teaching, and motivation to establish a

first class research program. An individual with expertise in one or

more of the following areas is sought: materials processing, high-

temperature materials, functional materials (electronic, magnetic,

optical). Outstanding candidates working in other areas will also be

considered. A higher level appointment is possible for a truly

exceptional person.
