The Adaptec 2920 card will fail on most AGFA scanners, because it resets the
SCSI bus. This occurs when the scanner carriage starts moving or during
calibration phase. When the 2920 controller detects a SCSI device that is
busy for 2 seconds, it will reset the SCSI bus. This reset will most likely
crash the system or leave it in an unknown state.
The following answer came from Adaptec :
"There is a problem in the microcode of the 2920, since the product reaches
it's end of life, the problem will most likely not be fixed. The product
will be replaced by a *REAL* Adaptec card using the 78XX ASIC and capable of
DMA Bus mastering. The 2920 was an EX-Future Domain product. Future Domain
was bought by Adaptec."
Adaptec strongly recommended to swap the 2920 for another Adaptec card. The
2920 card will be replaced by the 2910.

Tłumacząc to "na nasze" problem 2920 i skanerami Agfy jest znany ale,
zalecenie - kup sobie nowy kontroler...

Używałem pod XP ze swoim DuoScanem 2910 i 2940U - do obu nie było trzeba
instalować żadnych sterowników. Chodzą OK na standardowych, wbudowanych w
system. Tego pierwszego kupiłem na Allegro za 7 (słownie: siedem złotych)
więc proponuje taki zakup jako rozwiązanie problemu :)
I jeszcze jedno profilaktycznie: jak system wykryje Ci 7 skanerów zamiast
jednego :) to się nie przejmuj. To kolejny znany problem z LUN SCSI Agfy
:( Obojętnie do jakiego się odwołasz będzie działać OK. Ewentualnie w
menadżerze urządzeń wyłącz te 6 zbytecznych... Cóż Agfa robiła te skanery
pod Mac'a, Windowsy trochę olali...
