It is true that you can have four channel audio, as you plug the rear
speakers into the Line in socket. I have got it working in part by one of
the registry entries, so I have very low sound out the rear speakers but no
volume control. If you look in the media rack help word document. you will
see that their is an option to enable 4 channel speaker mode in the c-media
mixer. The problem is that windows does not use this mixer, but uses its
own.
What settings did you change? What driver version are you using?
To Conarcher. THe reg entry was jackconfig. The driver version dosn't
matter.
To Pascal16, can you give a bit more detall, as used typing mixer dosn't
work.
im using the 8738 drivers 5.12.1.639 dated 16/07/2002 these are working fine
on my k7s5a i got these drivers from windows update and now they seem to
have a bass boost function as well
