Witam

Mam problem z zainstalowaniem adaptera pamieci CF (sa to pamieci
wykorzystaywane np w aparatach cyfrowych) do zlacza PCIMCIA
w
WIN NT 4.0.

Wlozylem adapter w zlacze PCIMCIA. System wykryl nowe urzadzenie,
zainstalowal sterowniki. Najciekawsze jest to ze sterownik jest zainstalo=
wany
prawidlowo, urzadzenie niby dziala poprawnie a nie widac dodatkowego dysk=
u
kiedy wchodze w "Moj komputer". Probowalem odswiezac ekran <F5>. Probowal=
em
zamieniac karty PCIMCIA miedzy portami. Probowalem restartowac komputer k=
ilkukrotnie.
Bez rezultatu. Zauwazylem ze na moim komputerze sa narzedzia administracy=
jne do
obslugi dyskow <Administrator dyskow>. Podczas uruchamiania
tego programu pojawia sie jakis komunikat. A po uruchomieniu widac dodatk=
owy dysk
- "Dysk 1" ale nie jest on poprawnie podlaczony. Nie wiem czy tu nie
trzeba go jakos podlaczyc. Moze macie jakies doswiadczenia z takimi urzad=
zeniami
i pomozecie mi je uruchomic.

Karta jest w porzadku. uruchomilismy ja bez zadnych problemow
na WIN95 - system automatycznie rozpoznal, zainstalowal i pokazal nowy dr=
ive.
Karta jest firmy DATAFAB. Podobno nie wymaga dotatkowych sterownikow -
nie znalazlem w internecie informacji ze potrzebuje ona jekies sterowniki=
, wszedzie
pisza ze jest PLUG and PLAY.

Znalazlem jedna ciekawa rzecz na stronie firmy DATAFAB odnosnie WINNT
        http://www.datafabusa.com/windows_ntTBS.htm
zamieszczam ponizej.

Z tego co sprawdzilem to u mnie w ogole nie ma kluczy w rejestrach WIN NT=
 4.0
o ktorych mowa w pierwszej czesci tego "artykulu".

Moze trzeba doinstalowac jakies dodatkowe aplikacje z plytki WINNT
ktore beda obslugiwac ten adapter.
Gdyby ktos na powaznie zainteresowal sie moim problemem to jesterm w
stanie wyslac obrazki (jpg) z ustawieniami mojego laptopa.

Z gory WIELKIE DZIEKI za jakakolwiek odpowiedz i pomoc.

Prosba o wyslanie odpowiedzi rowniez na moj adres prywatny. Czasami mam
problemy z czytaniem grup.

Pozdrowionka

I have installed the card reader software however my computer does not re=
cognize a new
drive?
Make sure you have our drivers started. The drivers started at boot=
 up is epcfwnt or
epathd. You can check this by going into control panel - scsi
adapters - tab for
drivers - and it will tell you wether or not its started. If it is =
not started the
computer will not recognize the drive thus you need to start this
service.
Settings switches and parameters for the computer to recognize
     WINDOWS NT 4.0
     1. Go to the Start Menu and choose the RUN option=
=2E
     2. Type =93Regedit=94 into the text box and choos=
e OK
     3. When the list appears choose =93HKEY LOCAL MAC=
HINE=94
     4. Next, expand the SYSTEM folder, then the CURRE=
NT CONTROL SET
folder and then SERVICES
     5. You should see the EPATHD or EPCFWNT folder l=
isted there- click
on the folder and the resources will appear on the Right-hand side
of the screen.
     6. Double Click on Driver Parameters and a text b=
ox will appear.
     7. Insert ONE of the following switches into the =
box, and then
shutdown and re-boot your PC in order for the change to take effect.
     Switch options available:

     REASSIGNING THE DRIVE LETTERS
NOTE: You Can Not assign the drive letter Before or During installat=
ion. You can only
reassign the drive letter after driver installation and when the
computer is able to recognize the the reader, you are unable to spe=
cify the drive
letter during driver software installation.
Here are the steps to assign driver letter for windows NT. First ma=
ke sure you have a
flash card inserted inside our image card reader before you restart
the
computer. Then after restart of computer go to start - programs - a=
dministrative tools
- disk administrator. From here select and highlight the image
card reader
drive. Then right click and assign the driver letter to another dri=
ve letter that is
not already being used. After this you need to commit changes.
**Note you can only
do this if a flash card is inserted** Then you can go back and reas=
sign the other
drives. This should resolve your problem.
For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing K=
eys and Values"
Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete
Information in the
Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in Regedt32.exe. Note=
 that you should
back up the registry before you edit it. If you are running Windows NT
or Windows
2000, you should also update your Emergency Repair Disk (ERD).
To change or swap drive letters on volumes that cannot otherwise be =
changed using the
Disk Management snap-in, use the following steps.
NOTE: In these steps, drive D refers to the (wrong) drive letter ass=
igned to a volume,
and drive C refers to the (new) drive letter you want to change to,
or to assign to
     the volume.
This procedure swaps drive letters for drives C and D. If you do not=
 need to swap drive
letters, simply name the \DosDevice\letter: value to any new drive
letter not in
     use.
        1. Make a full system backup of the computer and system sta=
te.
        2. Log on as an Administrator.
        3. Start Regedt32.exe.
        4. Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices key.
        5. Click MountedDevices. On the Security menu, click Permis=
sions. Check to
make sure Administrators have full control. Change this back when you
are finished
           with these steps.
        6. Quit Regedt32 and start Regedit.exe Go to the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices key.
        7. Find the drive letter you want to change to (new). Look =
for
"\DosDevices\C:".
        8. Right-click \DosDevices\C:, and then click Rename.
        9. Rename it to an unused drive letter "\DosDevices\Z:". (T=
his will free up
drive letter C: to be used later.)
        10. Find the drive letter you want changed. Look for "\DosDevic=
es\D:".
        11. Right-click \DosDevices\D:, and then click Rename.
        12. Rename it to the appropriate (new) drive letter "\DosDevice=
s\C:".
        13. Click the value for \DosDevices\Z:, click Rename, and name =
it back to
"\DosDevices\D:".
        14. Quit Regedit and start Regedt32.
        15. Change the permissions back to the previous setting for Adm=
inistrators (this
should probably be Read Only).
        16. Restart the computer.
To change the drive letter you are currently using for ROOTDRIVE in =
Windows NT Server
4.0, Terminal Server edition, perform the following steps:
        1. Open Windows Explorer and go to the %SYSTEMROOT%\Applica=
tion Compatibility
Scripts folder.
        2. Right-click Rootdrv2.cmd, and then click Edit.
        3. The last line of the file should read
                 SET ROOTDRIVE=3DX:
where X: is the drive letter.
        4. Replace the existing drive letter with the new drive let=
ter you want to
use.
        5. On the File menu, click Save.
        6. On the File menu, click Exit.
