Finally by popular demand the one and only MONSTER 3D software EMU
patch!
Thanks to THOSEGUYS for providing the source from the 3DFX EMULATOR and
to
adolfo for Chipset ID routines and other technical bullshit. You guys
are
the greatest!
REQUIRED COMPONENTS:
WARNING! DO NOT RUN THIS EMULATOR IF YOUR HARDWARE CANT CUT IT! THESE
ARE THE SPECS THAT ARE NEEDED:
Pentium based chip (Intel, AMD, Cyrix), *special note: Some Cyrix chips
don't allow the rerouting of FPU specific commands to extended
mem!
This patch runs smoother on a new generation system (200mhz+).
Video card with S3 Virge chipset
64 megs of Physical RAM! Dont try to slick out with a "memory doubler"
because your computer might crash!
OTHER STUFF NEEDED:
GLQUAKE or GLHEXEN2 to test proggie! This program patch was written
specifically for these two programs in mind. Some machines might
not handle the special R20 commands to run in GL mode, here is
a list of some machines that have been known to crash:
PACKARD BELL SYSTEMS - someone email me on what or why this one
always seems to crash after the 45 frame
COMPAQ - Just locks up at unexpected times, still playable
ACER - Reports of Video chopping half the screen. email me this
too.
GATEWAY 2000 - little bug with HEXEN2 ONLY, will not return to
win95
after playing a bit.
IBM APTIVA - Video PROB, dont even bother, im sick of this bitch
not
working at all, given up!
This patch only works in 640x480 mode, do not go over or it will hang!
to slow in higher resolutions anyways :)
If you have any probs or would like to report a bug please email me with
a
description of the problem. if your computer crashes because of a memory
addressing error or other win95 errors, write it down and email it too
me!
Please email for this patch is still in a BETA stage. the more people
