Reader/Senior Lectureship in Biomaterials

The MMSC is seeking to make an appointment at a senior level in
Biomaterials to provide leadership in the subject area, at both
research and teaching level. Applicants should have a strong
research record in Biomaterials or a similar subject at the Materials
Science/Life Science interface. The successful applicants will be
expected to lead the Biomaterials activity in MMSC and teach
topics in biomaterials at both undergraduate and postgraduate
levels. He/she is expected to have clear research plans that will
contribute strongly to our high research rating and promote
interdisciplinary research between the MMSC and life science
departments within Manchester. Candidates with backgrounds
in either the life sciences or physical sciences are encouraged to
apply.

The MMSC is a joint activity between UMIST and the University of
Manchester, and has research links with other departments in both
institutions, including the Departments of Biomolecular Sciences
and Corrosion and Protection at UMIST, and the School of
Biological Sciences, The UK Centre for Tissue Engineering and the
Departments of Dentistry, Pharmacy and Chemistry at the
University of Manchester. Salary will be within the Senior
Lecturer/Reader scale (Ł35,251-Ł40,841 per annum).
