32nd Annual IMS Meeting Cincinnati, Ohio USA

  32nd Annual IMS Meeting, 3l October - 4 November, 1999, Cincinnati,
Ohio, USA

2nd IMS Annual Meeting is themed "Processing-Structure-Property-Behavior
Correlation's" and will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio, in conjunction with
Materials Week 98 and will be chaired by George F. Vander Voort.
The meeting will begin with a symposium and which will run concurrently
Oct 31 - Nov. l.
The symposium, entitled "Metallography, History and the Fine Arts" wil1
be chaired jointly by C. Bangall and G. F. Vander Voort, and the workshop
themed "Tutorials in Image Analysis and Digital Imaging Technology" will
be chaired by D. Hetzner.
This will be followed by the general three day technical meeting
"Understanding processing - Structure-Property Behavior Correlations"
which will be chaired by W. N. Weins.
This meeting will include nine topical sessions of which three are
co-sponsored by other affiliated societies. Technical meetings include
invited papers by internationally recognized experts and all presented
papers will be published in the Microstructural Science series of IMS
publications. Papers are being solicited for the following technical sesions:

Control of Microstructure Through Heat Treatment
 Co-sponsored with ASM Heat Treating Society, R.Colas,Chr.
Improved Practices for Thermal Spray Specimens
ˇCo-sponsored with ASM Thermal Spray Soc.,G.Blann and J.Sauer,Chr.
Metallography in Failure Analysis
 Co-Sponsored with ASM Materials Testing and QC Division,D.Diaz,Chr
Microstructural Modeling and Prediction
Processing Effects on Structure
Controlling Properties by Control of Microstructure
Using Microscopy to Study Material Behavior
Microstructures of Metals and Materials
Metallographic Techniques
