Nasz list server, oparty na systemie transportu poczty 'Mercury', wykonuje automatycznie pewne operacje w odpowiedzi na wysylane do niego polecenia.

Aby uruchomic taka operacje wyslij list na konto listserv_at_pluton.pol.lublin.pl z pustym polem 'subject' (jego zawartosc zostanie powtorzona w polu 'subject' odpowiedzi do Ciebie). Tresc listu powinna zawierac polecenia dla serwera poczty, po jednym w kazdej linii. Serwer przestaje przegladac polecenia kiedy napotka na koniec listu lub na pusta linie. Jesli Twoj mailer dodaje sygnature do listow, upewnij sie ze po ostatnim poleceniu znajduje sie pusta linia. Po napotkaniu nierozpoznanego polecenia serwer wysyla ten tekst.

Nasz serwer pocztowy (archimedes.pol.lublin.pl) rozpoznaje nastepujace polecenia:

    HELP

• Nie wymaga parametrow, zwraca ten tekst.

    VERIFY <address>

• Okresla, czy podany adres jest rozpoznawany przez serwer.

    LOOKUP <string>

• Zwraca liste uzytkownikow pod tym adresem, ktorych konta maja nazwy zgodne z podanym stringiem. Moze on zawierac biale znaki * oraz ?. To polecenie moze byc zablokowane.

    BOUNCE

• Nie wymaga zadnych parametrow - zwraca do Ciebie Twoj list z nienaruszonymi naglowkami.

    LIST

• Prezentuje wszystkie listy dyskusyjne osiagalne pod danym adresem.

    SUBSCRIBE <list-name>
    lub SUB <list-name>

• Wydaje list serwerowi polecenie dodania twojego adresu do listy subskrybentow podanej listy dyskusyjnej. Jezeli lista nie jest publicznie dostepna, otrzymasz komunikat o bledzie.

    UNSUBSCRIBE <list-name>
    lub SIGNOFF <list-name>
    lub UNSUB <list-name>

• Wydaje list serwerowi polecenie usuniecia twojego adresu z listy subskrybentow danej listy dyskusyjnej.

    ADD <list-name> <address>

• Jesli jestes moderatorem danej listy, to polecenie doda podany adres do listy subskrybentow listy dyskusyjnej.

    REMOVE <list-name> <address>

• Jesli jestes moderatorem danej listy, to polecenie usunie podany adres z listy subskrybentow listy dyskusyjnej.

    ENUMERATE <list-name>
    lub REVIEW <list-name>

• Wydaje serwerowi polecenie przeslania Ci biezacej listy subskrybentow danej listy dyskusyjnej. Jesli nie jestes moderatorem listy, korzystanie z tego polecenia moze zostac ograniczone.

    INDEX

• Prosi serwer o przeslanie listy plikow osiagalnych przez e-mail.

    SEND <filename>

• Prosi serwer o przeslanie Ci pliku. W celu uzyskania listy plikow osiagalnych e-mail'em, patrz polecenie INDEX.

Niektore z powyzszych operacji moga byc zablokowane.

The Mercury Mail Transport includes a simple mail server capable of performing a number of automatic operations in response to messages sent to it. Some or all operations may be restricted at some sites.

To activate the mail server, send a message to the special mail server account at the site (usually MAISER_at_host.domain), with the subject of the message set to anything (the mail server will quote your subject line back to you in its reply), and the commands the mail server should perform listed one per line in the message body. The mail server stops parsing commands when it encounters the end of the message, or a blank line. If your mailer adds a signature to your messages, make sure you enter a blank line after the last command. Unrecognized commands are ignored and generate no error.

The following commands are recognized by the mail server at this site (archimedes.pol.lublin.pl):

    HELP

• Takes no parameters, returns this text.

    VERIFY <address>

• Determines whether a particular address is valid at this site.

    LOOKUP <string>

• Returns a list of users at this address who match the string you supply. The string may contain * and ? wildcard characters. This command may be disabled at some sites.

    BOUNCE

• Takes no parameters - returns your message to you, headers intact.

    LIST

• Shows all the mailing lists available at this site.

    SUBSCRIBE <list-name>
    or SUB <list-name>

• Asks Maiser to add you to a mailing list. If the list is not a public list, you will receive an error message.

    UNSUBSCRIBE <list-name>
    or SIGNOFF <list-name>
    or UNSUB <list-name>

• Asks Maiser to remove your address from a mailing list.

    ADD <list-name> <address>

• If you are a moderator for the list, this command will add an address to the list.

    REMOVE <list-name> <address>

• If you are a moderator for the list, this command will remove an address from the list.

    ENUMERATE <list-name>
    or REVIEW <list-name>

• Asks the maiser to send you the current subscribers to the list. Enumeration of the list may be restricted on a list- -list basis unless you are a list moderator.

    INDEX

• Asks the maiser for a list of files available by e-mail at this site.

    SEND <filename>

• Asks the maiser to send you a file. For a list of the files available by e-mail from this site, see the INDEX command.
