Are all the ram modules you use registered ECC ones?
Afaik the MoBo only works with ECC-R modules.
Furthermore, most server-based boards require for each CPU
to have exactly the same amount of ram available,
so when you write "1gb x 4 DDR2 400 ram"
"added 1gb x 2 DDR2 400" - how many dram sticks have you got?
Is PAE mode enabled in BIOS?
The system doesn't start you say? Any beep codes?
