problem wyjaśniony tutaj:

http://inkstuff.net/category124_1.htm

" The problem with the black Lexmark 12A1970 cartridge is that it will
ultimately clog as a result of a chemical additive in the ink called
diethylene glycol. The cartridge itself is little more than a plastic box
with a block of porous foam rubber stuffed inside. The foam rubber acts as a
holding agent for the ink before it drains down and syphons into a tiny
inkwell moulded inside the bottom of the cartridge. From there, the ink is
jetted out through the nozzles and onto the paper. Unfortunately, as the
cartridge empties, some of the glycol adheres to the sponge block and
remains behind. With each successive refilling, more glycol accumulates
until the deposits are sufficient to restrict ink flow through the sponge
and into the inkwell. This results in ink starvation to the nozzles and a
deterioration in print quality. "
