The new virus sends an e-mail with a subject line that begins
with ``FW:'' and has an attached file. If the file
is opened, the
virus spreads to every person in the computer user's
address book,
freezing their computers. Since love bug, companies
and agencies
have installed software to prevent damage, which
could help slow
the spread of the new virus.
``This is the nightmare version of `I Love You'
because it
can destroy a machine in 20 seconds,'' said Simon
Perry, vice
president of security at Computer Associates
International Inc.,
the No. 4 U.S. software maker.
