Here in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Deutsche Bank (the German Bank) has
withdrawn the *whole* project of moving from OS/2 to Windows NT, both on
server as well as the corporate desktops. Reasons are: performance, heavy
maintenance, high helpdesk-cost, problems installing, communications
problems with other platforms.

They have tested for about 10 months. The project has been cancelled.

Just for your information as you asked for 'trainwrecks'. ;-)

The info is from first hand (someone running the project inside the bank),
and classified as is (no more details will be given).

Sometimes it seems to me the world is struggling to run NT, but many do
not even know WHY they are doin' it: mostly because the magazines tell
nice stories, or people are afraid to be left alone...real technological
issues are hardly given.
