Roderick Klein reports that Daniela Engert's drivers will soon
give a SCSI interface to ATAPI devices. This will allow such
things as CDRecord to work on ATAPI CD writers. DaniATAPI is a
replacement for IBMIDECD.FLT, IBMATAPI.FLT, *IDE.FLT,
RSJIDECD.FLT, and DaniADsk.FLT (to be discontinued), and
supports *all* kinds of ATAPI devices through the SCSI interface
(via ASPI): CD/DVD-ROM/R/RW/RAM, disks, MOs, tapes,
scanners, printers... Every software made for SCSI devices
which supports the ASPI transport interface *should* work with
DaniATAPI.FLT. DaniATAPI apparently runs CD-ROM drives faster
than IBMIDECD.FLT. Keep an eye out for these new drivers on
Hobbes.
