SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
In the age of the dynamic growth of global steel production, the continuously increasing requirements of steel users for the performance and reliability of steel products must be considered and fulfilled. Knowledge on the theory and practice of clean steel technologies and on cleanness assessment methods have been continuously improving since 2002 when Clean Steel 6 was held.
The objective of Clean Steel 7 is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest achievements of this important field of science and technology of steel.
Key areas of the conference are as follows:

b.. improvement and control of cleanness in practice
a.. - control of charge materials and refractories
b.. - ladle metallurgy
c.. - improving steel cleanness in the tundish and in the mold

Call for papers
Prospective authors are kindly requested to complete the attached Preliminary Registration Form (on-line registration here) and return it together with a short abstract (max. 200 words) to the address given below by not later then 15 September 2006.
Authors will be informed as to whether their paper has been accepted by 20 November 2006.
Full text of the paper will be required at the end of March 2007 at latest.

An exhibition of equipment, technologies and methods relating to the latest developments on the fields listed above will be organised at the conference site. Companies and organisations intending to exhibit are also requested to return the Preliminary Registration Form (on-line registration here) by the deadline given above.

LOCATION
Lake Balaton is one of Central Europe's most popular holiday resorts. Balatonfüred, a lovely town where the conference hotel is located, hosted several international meetings in the past decade, including most of the former Clean Steel Conferences. Participiants arriving in Budapest will be transported by shuttle buses to the hotel in Balatonfüred. The wheather in June is usually very fine with an average temperature of about 20 C0.
