Dear Colleague:

In view of your expertise in research and development in
materials or structures, you are invited to present a paper at
the Sixth International Conference on Composites Engineering,
ICCE/6, June 27-July 3, 1999 in Orlando, Florida. We are
interested in virtually all areas of basic research
as well as application-oriented composite materials research.

Further details can be found in the above web page.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

                                        Yours sincerely

                                        David Hui
                                        Professor, ICCE/6 Chairman

                        CALL FOR PAPERS (ICCE/6)
SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPOSITES ENGINEERING
              ORLANDO, FLORIDA, USA, June 27-July 3, 1999

sponsored by International Community for Composites Engineering
                     and UNO College of Engineering

The major goals of the ICCE/6 ORLANDO, FLORIDA 1999 conference are:

(1) to BRIDGE THE GAP between mechanics, materials science and
        processing of composites

(2) INTERDISCIPLINARY research bridging the gap between aerospace
        technology, bio-materials, chemistry, electronics,
        fluid mechanics, infrastructures, powder metallurgy,
        sensors/actuators, among others

(3) LEVERAGING of research resources and encouraging joint
        research between participants

The following symposium will be highlighted in the ICCE/6
conference (many other important topics which are not listed
below will also be included)

- Aging and Durability - Interface, Interphase
- Bio- or Dental Composites - Joints and Adhesion
- Chemical Behavior - Mathematical Modeling
- Ceramics Composites - Metal Matrix Composites
- Characterization of Materials - Micromechanics
- Computational Mechanics - Nano-Materials
- Design and Optimization - Optimization and Design
- Electronic/Magnetic Materials - Particulate Composites
- Fatigue, Failure - Powder Metallurgy
- Fiber/Matrix Characterization - Processing of MMC, CMC, PMC
- Functionally Gradient Materials - Smart Composites
- General Applications - Structural Dyanmics
- Impact Damage - Textile Composites
- Industrial Composites - Vibration
- Infrastructure Composites - Wave Propagation, NDT

The ICCE/6 conference proceedings will consist of extended
abstracts. The abstract should be written on a regular size
11"x8.5" paper (for authors outside USA). It consists of two
pages where each page has a two-column format. Please use
single-line space to allow maximum information. The first
line is the paper title (spanning two columns) and it
should be of size 14 all capital "bold" typeset. The second
line is blank, the third line is the name of the authors in
bold face, fond size 11. The fourth line is the postal mailing
address preferably written in only one line, non-bold, fond
size 11. The rest of the text is also in fond size 11. Please
keep approximately 3/4 inch margin on all edges. Laser-print
quality is required. It is important to underline the name
of the presenter, since the proceedings is arranged
alphabetically according to the name of the presenter.
We would like the abstract to be full of results, thus, please
include as many figures as possible in these two pages.

Due to limited space of over 450 oral paper presentations,
each presenter will present no more than one paper. If you or
your colleagues would like to develop sessions, please write to
Dr. David Hui. ABSTRACT SUBMITTER MUST AGREE TO PRESENT THE
PAPER AT ICCE/6. Abstracts should be submitted by postal mail,
emailed version is not acceptable, and fax version is not clear
enough for the proceedings.

Interested author should submit "IMMEDIATELY" the tentative
PAPER TITLE to: Dr. David Hui, University of New Orleans,
Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, New Orleans, LA 70148.
Tel: (504)-280-6652, FAX: (504)-280-5539, email: dxhme@uno.edu
we will update our web page soon,
