Witam wszystkich,
po dlugim braku lacznosci do Szwecji naleza sie wyjasnienia. Oto
odpowiedz, ktora uzyskalismy do Swedish Space Corporation:
----------------------------------------------------------------
Satellite station at KTH in Stockholm.
The station is now in operation since midnight CET
(June 14/15).
The first report of break in the 2 Mbit link came to
Sw. Space by phone from Warsaw after lunch on Thuesday
June 13.
Looking back, in our logging system the first signs of
something going out of tune (but not dead) came at 7.30 CET
the same morning.
To our personel if first looked as a problem with water
coming into the feed system and wave-guides, as the transmit
signal looked as fadeing down a few decibels. All parts in
the feed system was exchanged, and when switching on again
it looked normal for a while before the problems occured
again.
During Wednsday the feed system was checked once more. We
then found that the LNB (receiver head) also seemed not to
work properely. The LNB was replaced, but reception was
not possible.
The suspicion was then on common parts, the boxes containing
power supply and the up/down converter. In the evening the
power supply was excluded as the source of problem.
The UP/DOWN converter was changed and adjusted and the
system went live at about midnight. Confirmation came from
Warsaw by phone at about 0:30 CET.
Sw. Space has from time to time during this time been in
contact with NASK Op Center at Warsaw University.
In a situation of tracing a fault condition it is impossible
to tell when the system will be up and running again. The
only thing we can report is that we are working on the
problem, on site and in our shop to find the cause and the
cure.
The equipment in question is newly delivered and is still
under warranty. It was installed in March at KTH for running
the Lviv link and from early April also the transmission of
the carrier of the Warsaw 2 Mbit link (new).
We are truely sorry for this break in the services on the
Warsaw and Lviv links.
