Hi folks,
I have put the first beta of a replacement for IBM1S506.ADD called
DANIS506.ADD which adds the following enhancements to the current IBM
feature set:
- supports the VIA 586 IDE controller fully (including undocumented
bits)
- no need for chipset initialization by the BIOS
- Ultra33-DMA
- faster PIO due to 32bit IO
- sets device inactivity timer if supported by the device
(POWERSV.SYS is no longer needed)
- supports devices which don't spin up by themselves
- faster device detection
- some fixes for bugs and omissions in the IBM code ;-)
This version works for me so don't hesitate. You will find the archive
