Hi Jason,

Well I am in luck. I managed to get my SB AWE 64 Value to be fully
functional in OS/2 warp 4!!!

Well I hope that you are using the same beta drivers as I am using i.e.
the SB16-32-64-v11b.zip
available at hobbes. I upgraded from a SB 16 and could not get the
SB32/64 drivers to work with
the SB AWE 64. I had to settle with using the SB16 drivers that come
with the beta drivers. They
work well except that I cannot play midi files.

Well, I wrote to the author of the beta drivers who answered my note
today, long after I had
forgotten that I had written to him. This is what Daniel Caetano had to
say:

Yeah, you should use the SBAWE32/64 drivers provided in the package.
If you have any problems, try to move the comunications drivers
(COM.SYS/VCOM.SYS or SIO.SYS/VSIO.SYS) to the end of the config.sys. If
the problem with the mouse persists, move the Mouse lines (PCLOGIC,
VMOUSE, etc) BETWEEN the SB driver and the comunications drivers on the
config.sys.

  Hope I could help.

Oh, yes, before try anything, put the /G switch on the device line of
Sound Blaster driver. This could solve the problem.

===============End of correspondence===================================
Well, what I did was go ahead and install the awe32/64 drivers after
deleting the SBOS2 directory
and SB16 desktop folder. I added the G and P parameters to the SB line
in the config.sys. I
rebooted and vuala ..... no error messages and on checking the midi
player works.
I hope you bear the same fruit that I did. Good luck.
PS// Try the G parameter first before juggling your config.sys as he
said.
