Acivs 2004 Conference program
This information is preliminary and can be changed without notice

Acivs 2004 is a conference focusing on techniques for building adaptive, intelligent, safe and secure imaging systems. Acivs 2004 consists of four days of lecture sessions, both regular (25 mns) and invited presentations and two poster sessions. To ensure a large audience for each oral presentation or poster, there will be no parallel sessions.

Acivs 2004 also features a social program consisting of a conference dinner and other social activities.

Some of the topics covered by this year's conference are:

Acivs 2004 will feature a number of invited speakers. One of the invited speakers will be Ingrid Daubechies (Princeton University, Princeton, USA) and Donald Geman (Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Johns Hopkins University and CMLA, Ecole Normale Superieure, Cachan, France).

The conference also features two special sessions:

  a.. Understanding high resolution satellite images, organised by Mihai Datcu (German Aerospace Center DLR, Wessling, Germany)
  b.. Non-linear multiresolution analyses for image processing and coding, organised by Béatrice Pesquet-Popescu (ENST, Paris, France), Henk Heijmans (CWI, Amsterdam, the Netherlands) and Gemma Piella (CWI, Amsterdam, the Netherlands).
Registration
If you wish to participate in the conference, please register online.

The conference fee includes the social program (conference dinner, coffee breaks, snacks and cultural activities) and a copy of the CDROM conference proceedings. The exact amount depends on whether or not you register early and on some other factors.

Venue
The conference will take place in , the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, Belgium on Aug. 31-Sept. 3, 2004. The venue is a beautiful monastery located in the historic center of the medieval city of Ghent, which can be easily reached by train from Brussels main airport.
