Our client is looking for suppliers that are capable of providing the following material and are interested in an opportunity to bid for the business.

This is the first stage in a 3-stage vendor qualification process. Vendors who respond, confirming that they are willing and eager to supply the items, will receive a formal Request For Information (RFI) in approximately 1 week. A formal Request For Quote (RFQ) will be issued in approximately 4 weeks. Drawings and specifications will be provided only to vendors selected to receive the RFI.

The requirements are for simple cast iron items, with an anticipated annual volume that is expected to exceed 2,000,000 lbs.

  1) There are 8 sizes, ranging from 200 lbs., to 400 lbs.
  2) No machining is required on any of the castings
  3) The metal cast is Ductile Iron (ASTM A536, 65-45-12)
  4) Free from blow holes
  5) Straight with no warpage
  6) Process is Sand Casting

There will also be an opportunity to bid on additional items of similar specification, with some machining.

Your response is due by 22.00 GMT on Monday May 12, 2003.
