MSc in NANOSCALE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Nanotechnology is a vital research and development area with the
potential for enormous manufacturing opportunities in the 21st
century.
The Nanoscale Science & Technology Masters Training Package
has been jointly developed by the Universities of Leeds and
Sheffield. This new interdisciplinary programme will enable
graduates of single discipline degree schemes to contribute to
research, development and commercial applications of
nanotechnology.
Tuition is in small groups, through lectures, tutorials and practical
work, and will also be supplemented by open 1-day workshops on
selected topics, featuring external lecturers.
Full-time EPSRC funded studentships are available to UK
students. These include payment of tuition fees at UK/EC level and
a maintenance grant of Ł7500. EC students may apply for a fees-
only studentship.
Candidates should have or expect to gain at least a second class
honours degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Electronic Engineering,
Physics, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
